Duisburg and Frankfurt came one step closer to get next to Potsdam in the German Frauenbundesliga, yesterday, when Potsdam only got one point against the bottom team Leverkusen.

Eunice Beckmann took the lead for Leverkusen on the 36th minute but Viola Odebrecht got an equalizer only three minutes later. Despite trying hard, the champions weren't able to get a winning goal.

Duisburg got closer to Potsdam at the top of the league, and are now only three points behind them and have a game in hand. Duisburg won Hamburg 3-1 with goals from Kozue Ando, Mandy Islacker and Luisa Wensing. Henrike Meiforth scored Hamburg's goal.

Frankfurt thrashed newcomers Lok Leipzig 4-0 with goals from Lira Bajramaj, Sandra Smisek, Melanie Behringer and Kerstin Garefrekes. Frankfurt are now in the third place, only 4 points behind Potsdam.

Jena got a good win in the first game with a new coach, when Essen came for a visit. Caroline Schiewe took the lead for the home team after only ten minutes but Irini Ioannidou leveled the scores on the 27th minute. Sabine Treml scored the winner on the 75th minute.

Bayern München are hoping to turn their season around in the new year, and yesterday was a good indicator for that. A 3-0 win over Freiburg put Bayern four points clear from the relegation zone. Sarah Hagen scored the first two goals and Sylvie Banecki scored the third goal on the last minute of the game.
